IndoSys 2025 will be the 7th edition of IndoSys. IndoSys plans to be an annual event henceforth after a hiatus due to COVID19. The goal of this symposium is to support and improve the Systems ecosystem in India. In the Indian context, the number of academic and research labs working on Systems problems are fewer than other research areas such as Theory and AI/ML. IndoSys 2025 will provide a platform and opportunity for several interested groups — students, faculty, researchers and industry working/interested in the area of Systems.
Computer systems research is more important now than before due to several factors such as Post Moore Era, data deluge, billion-parameter deep learning models that are being used in almost every task. IndoSys will serve as a forum to serve as a venue for researchers to present their preliminary work on computer systems and get feedback. The stark difference between a Systems paper and a Theory paper is thorough evaluation. Here is an excellent reading material on benchmarking crimes (inspired from EuroSys).
Past editions of IndoSys were hosted at IISc, Bangalore (2019), IIT, Hyderabad (2018), IIT, Bombay (2017), IIT, Madras (2016), IIIT, Hyderabad (2015), and CDAC, Bangalore (2014).
Authors are invited to submit research manuscripts that demonstrate current research in all areas of computer systems such as Operating Systems, Programming Languages, Computer Networks, Compilers, Distributed Systems, High Performance Computing, Cloud Computing, Mobile Computing, Database, Compilers, Computer Architecture, Software-assisted Networking, Network Security, Blockchain systems, Systems for ML/DL etc. The papers may be submitted in one of the following tracks:
Invited Papers
We invite previously published research works which were published in top conferences/journals related to above areas.
Work In Progress (WIP) Faculty Papers
We invite faculty from institutions in India to submit a unpublished manuscripts (maximum 4 pages) who may be working on research problems related to one of the above areas in systems. The paper should include sections on (1) the problem description, (2) novelty of the problem and existing literature, (3) the technical solution proposed and its impact, (4) current progress and early results, and (5) future work.
Work In Progress (WIP) Student Papers
Indosys 2025 will feature a separate track for students registered in Indian institutions. Submissions should have at least one author who is a student during the academic calendar year 2025 and can be submitted either individually or in collaboration with peers or their advisors.
We invite unpublished manuscripts (maximum 4 pages) from students who may be working on research problems related to one of the above areas in systems. The paper should include sections on (1) the problem description, (2) novelty of the problem and existing literature, (3) the technical solution proposed and its impact, (4) current progress and early results, and (5) future work and any mentorship required.

Author Guidelines
Submitted manuscripts should be structured as technical papers and may not exceed four (4) single-spaced double-column pages using 10-point size font on 8.5×11 inch pages (ACM conference style), including figures, tables and 1 page for references. The IEEE conference style templates for MS Word and LaTeX provided by IEEE eXpress Conference Publishing are available for download. See the latest versions here. Electronic submissions must be in the form of a readable PDF file. All submitted manuscripts will be reviewed by the Program Committee.
Papers submitted to WIP tracks must represent original unpublished research that is not currently under review for any other conference or journal. These can be ongoing work that may not be ready for full submission. Authors may contact the Steering Committee Members and the Program Chairs for further information or clarification. Note that the goal of IndoSys is to provide a platform for feedback, discussion and mentorship on research work and writeup. The submissions will not be indexed/published and will not have a DOI.

Submission Review Process
All submitted manuscripts will be reviewed by the Program Committee members and undergo a rigorous review process. Submissions will be judged by at least two PC members on correctness, originality, technical strength, significance, potential impact, quality of presentation, and interest and relevance to the conference scope. The decision for the submission may be Accept or Reject. Papers that are accepted must be revised as per the reviewers’ suggestions.
A good-quality submission should articulate its motivation, key contributions, limitations of prior work, methodology and initial experimental results if any. Selected papers will be asked to present a short talk and/or a poster. A limited number of travel grants may be available for one author of selected papers.
Use of AI-assisted text
You may use tools such as ChatGPT, Grammarly, or other AI assistants to help improve the submission text quality. We recommend that you use these services only for language/grammar correction. The use of any AI-generated text must be disclosed in the acknowledgments section. The sections of the paper that use AI-generated text shall have a citation to the AI system used to generate the text.
All deadlines are EoD Indian Standard Time (IST).
